This week we explored apples through the eyes of a scientist, mathematician, poet, and an author. We began our exploration reading the story of Johnny Appleseed. We completed a sequencing activity to recall the story. As a scientist we explored our five senses. We cut into our apples and used our senses to explore the apples. To strengthen our mathematical brain we made a graph to show the variety of apple colors we had. We read many poems including the one above to recognize sight words and patterns. We also shared the many connections we have with apples such as; going apple picking, baking an apple pie, making applesauce, having an apple tree, and showing off the apples in our lunch boxes each day!
