Dear Families,
Happy Fall! We had another wonderful and productive four day week. On Monday it was International Peace Day. To mark this occasion we read the book The Three Questions by Jon Muth. This book is about a boy looking for the answers to three life questions:
When is the best time to do things?
Who is the most important one?
What is the right thing to do?
After reading the story we discussed what we have done to make a difference. The students had so many connections and were excited to share their personal experiences with each other. Our discussion is posted on our class website.
Inspired by a child in our class wanting to write a letter to their mom, I introduced Author’s Choice. This academic choice is when the students can choose from a variety of writing options such as writing a story, a postcard, a shopping list, a recipe, or a letter. Today some of the students even wrote Mr. Barker a letter!

Have a wonderful weekend.
Warmly,
Alyson
