Dear Families,
Yesterday I sent home a few papers highlighting two amazing happenings this week; a visit from Elizabeth Frary and the first edition of our class newspaper. It is my goal this year to document your child’s learning in action. Documentation is used to revisit a conversation, a lesson, or a special event. Using documentation allows students to reflect on their work and build upon what they have already done. This allows for learning to be ongoing and be student-led.
From the success and excitement of the class newspaper, the students have expressed interest in writing an article on an event that has happened in school each week.
Stay tuned for next week’s news article!
Curriculum Highlights:
Math
Writing
Readers Workshop
Spelling
Have a wonderful long weekend.
Warmly,
Alyson
